The rain was falling heavily,

And dark clouds filled the sky,

Geronimo was quite fed up,

And he began to cry.

"This weather is a nuisance!"

The little Teddy moaned,

"I wanted to play football,

But now that's been postponed!"

He sat down in a comfy chair,

Still moaning to himself,

And noticed that a wooden house,

Was sitting on the shelf!

A little man was stood outside,

He carried an umbrella,

"Good golly!" cried Geronimo,

"He is a funny fella!"

"I heard that!" said an angry voice,

"Don't be so cheeky Teddy!

I do a very useful job,

And you can call me Eddie!"

"I'm sorry!" wailed Geronimo,

"How silly could I be,

I didn't think that you were real,

Which was so wrong of me!"

Friend Eddie started laughing,

"That's quite alright!" he said,

"It happens to me all the time,

Don't worry your small head!"

Our furry friend was most relieved,

Now everything was clear,

But still he asked his brand new chum,

"Why are you standing here?"

"I tell folk when it's raining!"

Said Eddie with a grin,

"Some passers by are noisy,

And make a dreadful din!"

"You must get very lonely,"

Said our Geronimo,

"When do you eat your dinner,

That's what I want to know!"

"It's simple!" answered Eddie,

"I have a lovely life,

Because I share this little job,

"With my amazing wife!"

"She stands here when the sun shines!"

He went on to explain,

"And I do lots of indoor jobs,

Until it starts to rain!"

"That seems a good idea to me,"

Smiled our Geronimo,

"Oh look, the sun is shining,

So you will have to go!"

When Eddie went inside the house,

Friend Brenda took his place,

And when she saw the little Bear,

She kissed him on the face!

Our furry friend went very red,

And said "You're very sweet,

I've heard so much about you,

And I'm glad that we could meet!"

"Oh so am I" grinned Brenda,

"Because my dear you see,

This job is so much better,

Than cooking Eddie's tea!"

The two friends talked a little while,

Then it began to thunder,

"Oh golly!" cried Geronimo,

'What shall we do I wonder"

"You fellas have no sense at all,"

Said Brenda with a grin,

"There's only one thing for it,

This shift is packing in!"

They ran into the little house,

And quickly shut the door,

Friend Eddie asked them cheekily,

'What have you come in for!"

"That's simple!" smiled Geronimo,

"The thunder has stopped play,

But one thing is for certain,

I've had great fun today!"

THE END.
