Uncle Alan is amazing,

He’s a great, big grizzly Bear,

But still treats our Geronimo,

With tender, loving care.

One hot, day in the summer,

He had a good idea,

While gazing at the tree he boomed;

"There’s something missing here!"

"Why don’t we make a tree house,

In which we could both play,

It’s very, very simple,

And would pass the time away!"

Our Hero was delighted,

And grinned from ear to ear,

He squealed "Can we get cracking,

That’s such a great idea!"

"But you’ll still have to help me,

As I’m only very small,

And when it comes to woodwork,

Well I don’t know much at all!"

"Don’t worry," answered Alan,

"As things are all in hand,

Let’s go and start our project,

Exactly as we planned!"

"Go and find some wood," he added,

"And then we’ll make a start,

We’ll make a special tree house,

That you’ll love with all your heart!"

Our Chum raced to the garden,

And began to look around,

Where lots of lovely strips of wood,

Were waiting to be found.

"How wonderful!" he chuckled,

"That’s exactly what I need,"

So he took them to his Uncle,

At almost breakneck speed.

Friend Alan was delighted,

And shook him by the paw,

Then they asked Jane for some lino,

To make the tree house floor.

"Be careful though" she warned them,

"I want you to have fun,

But when you use a hammer,

Lots of damage can be done!"

"Don’t worry," boomed the Grizzly Bear,

"I’ll keep my eye on him,

He’ll be as safe as houses,

So please don’t look so grim!"

Feeling ever so much better,

The small girl went indoors,

And the very happy twosome,

Got busy with their paws.

"I’m glad she’s gone," laughed Teddy,

"She’s always fussing me,"

Then smiling very broadly,

He put wood around the tree!

"That’s looking good," smiled Alan,

"Now let’s lash it down with rope,

If you haven’t got security,

Than you will never cope!"

When the first stage was completed,

Bear gave it a quick test,

He said "It doesn’t move an inch,

Which proves it is the best!"

"Oh good," replied his Uncle,

"I’m glad it’s Teddy proof,

The next thing that we need to do,

Is make a sturdy roof!"

"Okay," laughed our Geronimo,

"I’m already on the case,"

And he ran around the garden,

At a most alarming pace!

In no time what so ever,

He was back with lots of leaves,

And giggling "Now’s the perfect time,

For rolling up our sleeves!"

The pair continued working,

Until the roof was made,

At last they chuckled "Golly,

It puts others in the shade!"

When the tree house was completed,

It looked extremely grand,

So Our Chum climbed up the ladder,

Exactly as he’d planned.

When he’d made himself quite cosy,

He grinned from ear to ear,

"You’ve done the most fantastic job,

It’s nice and snug up here!"

"The only thing that’s missing,

Is a tiny, silver tin,

Because I will need something,

To put my rations in!"

"All sorted!" smiled kind Alan,

"I thought ahead you see,

The rations are stacked safely,

In this wonderful old tree!"

"I hate to go!" he added,

"But now I’ve got to run,

But I will come back shortly,

To have a lot more fun!"

"Make sure you do!" came the reply,

"I’ve had a ball today,

And although you’re called a Grizzly Bear,

"You’ve brought much joy my way!"

THE END.
