Geronimo Saves Stephanie Seal.

One summer our Geronimo,

Went to the Isle of Wight,

From the moment he arrived there,

His future looked so bright.

He ate a lot of candy floss,

And paddled in the sea.

While smiling "This is perfect,

I’m as happy as can be!"

"I’ve even planned a visit,

To a very special zoo,

Oh I really love this Island,

There’s so much to see and do!"

Next morning bright and early,

Bear reached his destination,

And when he looked around him,

There was cause for celebration!

He saw parrots, he saw horses,

Who looked happy as can be,

And grinned "They’re very settled here,

That much is plain to see!"

However in a little while,

Our Chum heard someone squeal,

And glanced right up to notice,

A most unhappy seal!

"Hello," he smiled so kindly,

"You’ve got a lovely face,

That awful frown across it,

Seems extremely out of place.

To cheer you up a little,

Would make me very glad,

I’m not too good with females,

Especially when they’re sad!"

"However you’re so pretty,

That I can’t just walk on by,

Who knows I might be able,

To help your tears to dry!"

"I doubt it!" sighed the crying seal,

"My name is Stephanie,

And I’ve just lost the husband,

Who meant so much to me!"

"We were very, very happy,

Then a human played a "Joke,"

He threw a bag into our cage,

Which made my loved one choke"

"I miss him very badly,"

She went onto explain,

"That’s why it’s proving really hard,

For me to smile again."

"Oh you poor thing" sighed Teddy,

"No wonder you’re so sad,

Your story is just awful,

And that nutter makes me mad!

But now that this has happened,

Folk will learn from his mistake,

They’ll know when they come up to you,

More care they have to take!"

"You’d think so," sobbed his saddened friend,

"Such damage has been done,

But some still think it’s funny,

To catch me on the run!"

Then, just as if to prove the point,

A naughty boy came by,

He picked up a crisp packet,

And looked her in the eye!

"Get out the way!" he shouted,

"My name is Dodgy Dave,

I like to come and wind her up,

Because she isn’t brave!"

Geronimo stepped forward,

And then he blocked the cage,

"Oh I’ll do no such thing" he yelled,

"You’ve got me in a rage!"

"She’s already lost her husband,

Because of fools like you,

So for that very reason,

I will not let you through!"

The foolish boy went up to him,

And then scoffed "Yeah, yeah, yeah,

I do not have to listen,

Because you’re just a bear!"

"You’ve got no right to ruin,

My little bit of fun,

So do us all a favour,

And simply cut and run!"

But this made the situation,

A million times worse,

Brave Teddy squared right up to him,

And he began to curse!

"I know more than you," he bellowed,

"That much is crystal clear,

So will you kindly leave her be,

As you’re not wanted here!"

"Okay, okay," Dave quivered,

"There’s no need to get rough,

I’m going home this minute,

As this is girly stuff!"

He ran away in seconds,

To everyone’s relief,

And Stephanie puffed "Golly,

I thought I’d come to grief"

"Don’t worry," smiled our Furry Friend,

"That boy was just a pain,

But now we’ve got things sorted,

He won’t bother you again!"

"I know," replied the lovely seal,

"But that was down to you,

Oh I’m so very happy,

This is like a dream come true!"

"In that case," laughed Geronimo,

"Today has been worthwhile,

Now will you please reward me,

By giving me a smile?"

"Of course," beamed pretty Stephanie,

"You made my problems cease,"

And ever since that meeting,

She’s lived her life in peace!
