Geronimo and the Rag Doll
Geronimo, the little Bear,
Was walking down the lane,
He had to buy a loaf of bread,
And take it home to Jane.
The Teddy started whistling,
As he neared the village shop,
But then he heard a whining sound,
And thought; I'll have to stop!"
"Hello, who's there?" he shouted,
"What seems to be the trouble?"
A voice replied; "I'm stuck in here,
And need help at the double!"
"Where's here?" cried out Geronimo,
"Please tell me right away,
And I will do my very best,
To rescue you today!"
"Oh thank you!" said the tiny voice,
"I've been thrown out you see,
My mistress thought the dustbin,
Was the only place for me!"
"My arms and legs are very bruised,"
The small voice carried on,
"I really am in dreadful pain,
And all my friends have gone!

Our furry chum was most upset,
"I'll get you out!" he said,
"So please stop all that worrying,
Or it will hurt your head!"
He lifted up the dustbin lid,
And found a doll inside,
Her clothes were VERY dirty,
"I'm such a mess!" she cried!
"Oh no you're not!" smiled Teddy,
In fact I think you're pretty,
I'm sorry you were dumped like this,
It's such a dreadful pity!"
"Just take my paw," he added,
"And you'll be right as rain,
It really won't be long at all,
Until you're clean again!"
The dolly took Bear's sound advice,
Then kissed him on the cheek,
She told him; "You're the best surprise,
That I have had all week!"
"It's alright!" laughed Geronimo,
"You do not have to pay me,
Because no one has named you yet,
I think I'll call you Amy!"
The little doll was very pleased.
She grinned; "That name sounds nice,
But now that I am homeless,
I need some more advice!"
Our hero smiled; "That's sorted out,
You'll come and live with me."'
So Amy and Geronimo,
Went home to have some tea!
THE END.
