Geronimo
In A Muddle.
At three o’clock one afternoon,
All schoolwork had been done,
"Hooray!" laughed our Geronimo,
"I’m off to have some fun."
He hurried out the open gate,
And ran straight to the park,
"Fantastic!" he grinned to himself,
"I’ll stay until it’s dark!"
"This really is much better,
Then being stuck in class,"
And then, he did a paw-stand,
Down on the green, green grass.
"This is brilliant!" Bear chuckled,
"I’m so glad I came here,
These crazy acrobatics,
Will help my head to clear!"
"In fact I am so happy,
That my efforts weren’t in vain,
I’ll take the opportunity,
To do it all again!"
He put his paws upon the ground,
And then prepared to flick,
Until a voice laughed "Slow down mate,
Or else you will be sick!"
Our furry Chum glanced upwards,
And gave a cheeky smile.
He giggled "Hi there Darren,
Feel free to stay a while.
I’ve had a nightmare day and so,
I thought that I’d chill out,
For after all that studying,
It’s great to mess about!"
The little boy smiled broadly,
And answered "I agree,
Those paw stands that you’re doing,
Have quite inspired me!"
Now everything was settled,
He sat down next to Teddy,
Who told him; "Take a look at this,
And join in when you’re ready!"
In no time whatsoever,
The very cheeky pair,
Were doing paw stands on the grass,
Without a single care.
However in a little while,
Friend Darren chuckled "Hey,
I’ve got a small suggestion,
That’ll really make your day!"
"Let’s roly-poly down the hill,
As fast as we can go,
I know that you’ll enjoy it,
As it’s so much fun you know!"
"Yes lets," smiled our Geronimo,
"I’ll race you to the top,
These games are blinking marvellous,
I don’t want them to stop."
"Me neither," giggled Darren,
Running up the bank so fast,
I’ve got a sneaky feeling,
This will really be a blast."
After making themselves comfy,
He added "Shall we go?
You’ve no chance whatsoever,
Of catching me you know!"
"Oh is that so?" scoffed Teddy,
"Well you’ll have to wait and see,
I ‘m small, and cute and furry,
And as nifty as can be!"

The two friends started rolling,
As fast as they could go,
Then suddenly our Hero,
Sadly reached an all time low.
The friends were laughing loudly,
But then there was a thud,
And he cried "Can you believe it,
I’ve rolled into the mud.
I can’t see where I’m going,
And my clothes are filthy dirty,
I’m sure when I go home tonight,
Friend Jane will get all shirty!"
His playmate took one look at him,
And then he laughed and laughed,
"I know I shouldn’t say this,
But you DO look rather daft
However don’t get worried,
Because I’ve hatched a plan,
I’ll take you back to my place,
As quickly as I can!"
"My foster Mum is out and so,
We’ll put these in the wash,
And then, before you know it,
You’ll be looking nice and posh!"
"Oh thanks a lot!" Bear giggled,
You’ve really saved my life,
You see, I am a coward,
Who just can’t handle strife!"
"I realise that!" laughed Darren,
"But we’ve got no time to waste,
So for that very reason,
I think we should make haste."
As soon as they were home again,
Our chum took off his clothes,
As he loaded up the twin tub,
He wrinkled up his nose!
"Good heavens!" he grinned broadly,
"They really, really stink,
If I’d kept them on much longer,
They’d walk off me I think!"
His little friend laughed once again,
And said "I think that’s true,
I’d better go upstairs and get,
A change of clothes for you."
He came back again in minutes,
And then asked "Will these do?
You’ve very, very lucky,
As they’re practically brand new!"
"You bet," said our Geronimo,
"Those jeans are just ace,"
And as he quickly put them on,
A wide grin crossed his face!
In no time whatsoever,
The washing was all done,
He grinned "What a palaver,
For a little bit of fun!"
"Don’t worry," chuckled Darren,
"We got away with it,
And if we did it all again,
I wouldn’t mind one bit."
"Me neither," answered Teddy,
"We’ve both had such a laugh,"
And feeling so much cleaner,
He trotted down the path!"
THE
END.
