Geronimo the little Bear,
Was tucked up nice and snug,
He'd counted lots and lots of sheep,
And given Jane a hug.
The Teddy dozed off quickly,
Because he felt contented,
But then he heard a tinkling sound,
Which drove him quite demented!

"Who's there?" he mumbled crossly,
"I've had a hectic day,
And now I'd really like it,
If you simply went away!"
The tinkling sound continued,
So Bear opened up his eyes,
And as he looked around him,
He gasped in sheer surprise!

He was standing in a garden,
Full of very pretty flowers,
A fairy stood before him,
And she had magic powers.
"My goodness!" cried our furry friend,
"What are you doing here?
I would be very grateful,
If you'd make your motives clear!"

The fairy simply giggled;
"Don't worry my dear fellow,
I'm Mrs. Merryweather,
And I love to dress in yellow."
"It's still as clear as mud to me,"
Laughed our Geronimo,
"Whyever have you brought me here?
That's what I'd like to know!"

"It's simple!" smiled his new found friend,
"I am the weather fairy,
I heard that you were nice and kind,
So please don't be contrary!"
"Who me?" replied the little Bear,
"I'm furry and I'm sweet,
My special brand of tactfulness,
Is very hard to beat!"

The Fairy grinned; "I hope it is,
I need your help you see,
Take hold of my amazing wand,
And listen carefully!"

"Stop fussing!" Chuckled Teddy,
"Because I know the score,
It isn't common knowledge,
But I've used a wand before.
I was at a Children's party,
And I learnt a simple trick,
There isn't any reason,
To give me all this stick!"

"There is," replied his dainty chum,
"My work is specialised,
It might look easy-peasy,
But you would be surprised.
You must obey instructions,
When sorting out the weather,
So there's no other option,
But for us to work together!"

"Oh Balderdash!" scoffed Little Bear,
There can't be that much to it,
Just let me have that wand of yours,
I'm sure that I could do it!"
Mrs. Merryweather gave a sigh,
"Okay, you win," she said,
"But if there is a thunderstorm,
Then be it on your head!"

Our Hero waved the wand around,
And felt tremendous power,
"The roses want a drink!" he cried,
"And so we need a shower!"
No sooner had he spoken,
Then a wind began to blow,
And from the dark and gloomy sky,
Fell giant flakes of snow!"

"Oh curses!" yelled Geronimo,
"I've left my coat indoors,
It really is quite useless,
This magic wand of yours!"
"The wand's okay!" laughed Mrs M,
"It's you who's made the blunder,
And now we've got a snowstorm,
Which is even worse than thunder!"

"I know," said Teddy weakly,
"I've been a proper wally,
But COULD you sort this mess out,
As I haven't got a brolly!"
"Okay then," sighed his kindly chum,
"Just hand the wand to me,
And I'll sort out this dreadful mess,
Before you count to three!"

With a very guilty conscience,
Bear did as he was told,
For after the mistake he'd made,
He didn't feel so bold.
"That's better," giggled Mrs. M,
"Now wand, please do your stuff,
This Snowstorm's causing havoc,
And we've had QUITE enough!"

She waved it up into the air,
And cried; "We need some sun,
Because we're losing patience,
And you have had your fun!"
Before she said another word,
The snow had disappeared,
"Good golly!" gasped Geronimo,
"Tonight's been really weird!"

"Just now I felt extremely cold,
But now it's boiling hot,
Folk shouldn't underestimate,
The powers you have got!"
The Fairy smiled a lovely smile,
"You flatterer!" she said,
"I've got to pop off very soon,
And you should go to bed!"

"Okay then," laughed the happy Bear,
"But let me hug you first,
Because for just a minute,
I thought your wand was cursed!"
He hugged her very gently,
And said a fond goodbye,
Then Mrs. Merryweather,
Flew up into the sky!

"I'll come back soon," she shouted,
"Till then, watch how you go,
Because you're very dear to me,
My friend Geronimo!"

THE END.
