Geronimo
Goes to Moorcroft.
Geronimo has talents,
Which are plain for all to see,
But when using a computer,
He’s as hopeless as can be.
One day he pressed a button,
And his school work disappeared,
His friends all pointed at him,
And laughed "Oh you’re so weird!"
In no time whatsoever,
This began to get him down,
He went about his business,
Wearing an enormous frown.
"It’s no good," Teddy mumbled,
As he wandered up the street,
"It seems this new technology,
Has really got me beat"
"I am the biggest wally,
Whoever walked the earth,
And now these taunts and sniggers,
Have ruined my self worth!"
Our Chum felt really downcast,
And looked down at his shoes,
He groaned "This was one battle,
That I was bound to lose!"
But when he least expected it,
He had a big surprise,
He bumped into a fellow,
With kindly, sparkly eyes!
"Oh sorry," said our Furry
Friend,
"I didn’t see you there,
You see, I’ve got a secret,
Which I really ought to share!"
"I’m hopeless with computers,
And my mates think I am thick,
So this current situation,
Is making me feel sick!."
"I bet it is," replied the man,
"But don’t be sad and blue,
Because as it so happens,
I can be of use to you!"

"My Christian name is David"
He patiently explained,
"And as good luck would have it,
I am computer trained.
If you came along to Moorcroft,
I could get you sorted out,
You’d be the quickest learner,
Of that I have no doubt!"
"Oh thank you!" smiled Geronimo,
"That’s such a good idea,
I’ll soon become an expert,
That much is crystal clear!"
So at one o’clock that afternoon,
Bear called upon his mate,
And told him "Let’s get cracking,
I really cannot wait"
"Me neither," answered David,
"This will be a lot of fun,
But first I’ll introduce you,
To simply everyone."
By the time they got to Moorcroft,
Cheeky Teddy was delighted,
And when he looked around him,
He got even more excited!
"Good gracious me," he giggled,
"The others are so old,"
"Behave yourself," said David,
"And do as you are told!"
Our furry chum looked innocent,
"I always do" lied he,
"I’m also sure the pair of us,
Will get on perfectly!"
The happy pair then went inside,
And sat down at the table,
"In just a while," the teacher
smiled,
"You’ll be so very able!"
"I hope so!" muttered Teddy,
"You see I’m always failing,
Although I’ve tried my hardest,
I cannot do emailing!"
"You’ll learn," smiled David
kindly,
"But let’s do first things first,
Let’s switch on the computer,
Then you can do your worst!"
Our furry friend laughed loudly,
"Oh silly, silly me,
I’m afraid you’ll soon discover,
I’m as crazy as can be!"
"I’ve worked that out," laughed
David,
"Now can we make a start,
In this most important lesson,
You’ll have to play your part."
Geronimo sat up at once,
And switched on the machine,
Then he got straight down to business,
Feeling very, very keen!
In no time whatsoever,
He’d composed and sent a letter,
"I’ve cracked it now," he giggled,
"No wonder I fell better!"
"You’ve done really well," smiled
David,
With a twinkle in his eye,
"Why don’t we have a bit of fun,
Before we say goodbye!"
"Oh yes," Bear giggled eagerly,
"Some aliens we’ll shoot,
I was silly to be nervous,
About going down this route!"
In the weeks and months that followed,
He mastered more things too,
And now his silly classmates,
Never tell him what to do!
THE END.
To my mate David, with love and thanks for
putting up with me!
