Geronimo and the Magic Show
Geronimo the little Bear,
Has got a friend called Keith,
The things that he gets up to,
Are quite beyond belief.
Now Keith is a magician,
Who's really nice to know,
He invited little Teddy,
To a very special show.
The curtain rose so quickly,
And everybody cheered,
As Glenys the assistant,
Quite suddenly appeared.
"My first trick," said Keith proudly,
"Is to saw my wife in half,
She is a super person,
Who really likes a laugh!"
The very plucky woman,
Laid down upon the table,
"Good golly!" thought our Furry friend,
"I hope he's really able!"
He watched with very baited breath,
As Keith produced a Saw,
"I'm glad I'm not up there," he sighed,
"Of that you can be sure!"
You could have heard a pin drop,
As he sawed his lovely wife,
He said "I do this often,
"And it never causes strife!"
In minutes plucky Glenys,
Was completely whole again,
And Our Hero cried: "Good gracious,
Just wait 'till I tell Jane!"
The audience went really wild,
And gave a giant cheer,
"Okay then," laughed Keith loudly,
"I need a volunteer!"
"I'll do it!" yelled Geronimo,
"Your tricks are all the rage,"
And before you could say "Magic",
He'd joined his friend on stage!
"Well now," smiled the magician,
"I know a fluffy rabbit,
Appearing out of nowhere,
Is his very favourite habit!
"He often hides inside this bag,
As he is REALLY shy,
So please keep very quiet,
When we give this trick a try!"
He held the bag out quietly,
And gave his wand to Bear,
Who tapped it very gently,
And said "Come out of there!"
The rabbit didn't hear him though,
And everything stood still,
"It's no good Keith!" he muttered,
"I haven't got your skill!"
"I disagree." replied his friend,
"Just have another go,
You need to have a bit more faith,
My dear Geronimo!"
Our Hero was uncertain,
But took his sound advice,
As Keith held out the paper bag,
He gently taped it twice.
He begged the hiding Bunny,
"Oh please come out at once,
Or else in front of all Keith's fans,
I'll look a proper dunce!"
Before he'd finished speaking,
There was a giant bang,
Out jumped the fluffy animal,
Who giggled "Hiya Gang!"
"I'm sorry I was late," he laughed,
"But I ran out of food,
That's why when Teddy called me,
I got in quite a mood!"
The audience began to cheer,
And Teddy took a bow,
"Oh thank you everyone!" he cried,
"I think I've cracked it now!"
He sat down in his seat once more,
His eyes were still aglow,
"I won't forget this evening,"
Thought our Geronimo!
The magic just went on and on,
Keith tapped a bowler hat,
And when two pretty doves appeared,
He chuckled "Fancy that!"
He cut some coloured paper up,
Then made it whole once more,
Our Furry friend laughed loudly,
Until his throat was sore!
The time passed by so quickly,
And soon the show was through,
But still our little Hero,
Had one more thing to do.
When everybody else had gone,
He knocked upon Keith's door,
"I really loved your tricks," he laughed,
"And will be back for more!"
Friend Keith smiled very broadly,
And so did Glenys too,
They said; "This job is nicer,
Because of folk like you!""
THE END.
