Geronimo And the Magic Plate.
Geronimo the little Bear,
Was
sitting at the table,
He had
to eat his dinner up,
As soon
as he was able.
He had
one tiny problem though,
His
plate was piled with sprouts,
And
though Jane said they'd do him good,
Our
hero had his doubts!
"They're horrible!" he grumbled,
"They
make me feel quite sickly,
But if
you were to fry some chips,
I'd
gobble them up quickly!"
His
Mistress didn't seem to hear,
His
very heartfelt plea,
"You'll
have to eat them up!" she said,
"Or
poorly you will be!"
She
left the Teddy sitting there,
Still
moaning to himself,
"These
vegetables," he grumbled,
"Are no
good for my health!"
But
after just a little while,
A tiny
man appeared,
He
asked Bear "Can you help me?
Because
I'm feeling weird!"
"I just
can't move!" he added,
"Because some rotten louse,
Has
left a pile of Brussel sprouts,
Outside
my pretty house!"
Geronimo was quite surprised,
And
thought; "This is quite potty,
"I
can't see any houses here,
My new
friend's clearly dotty!"
Aloud
he said; "I'd love to help,
But one
thing isn't clear,
I'm
puzzled as I cannot see,
A
pretty house round here!"
"It's
on this plate!" replied the Man,
"That's
why I'm in a fix,
For
while you do not eat your sprouts,
My wife
and I can't mix!"
"My
name is John!" he added,
"Please
eat up right away,
As June
and I are planning,
To
entertain today!"
Geronimo felt guilty,
"I'm
sorry!" he replied,
"I'll
eat these sprouts up quickly,
So you
can get outside!"
In the
twinkling of an eyelid,
All
Teddy's food was gone,
"Oh
thank you, that was VERY kind,
Bye Bye
for now!" smiled John.

"How
very odd!" thought little Bear,
"My
friend has gone away,
But I
must still remember,
To eat
my Sprouts each day!"
When
Jane came back into the room,
She
said "You're good as gold,
Because
you've eaten up the sprouts,
And
done as you were told!"
Geronimo said nothing,
He
simply gave a wink,
John's
extra special lesson,
Will
stay with him I think!
THE
END.
