Geronimo and all his mates,

Went on a trip one day,

But when they reached the stately home,

He wasn’t blown away.

As he looked at all the paintings,

He muttered "Dear oh dear,

I’ll nod off in a minute,

As it’s very boring here."

"This house may be historic,

But it’s very dull indeed,

It won’t provide excitement,

Which I so badly need."

Then Teddy spotted something,

Out the corner of his eye,

"I’m only small," he muttered,

"So this is worth a try!"

"It’s lucky that I spotted this,

For now I have a plan,

I’ll slip beneath the cordon,

As quickly as I can!"

Bear got down on his paws and then,

He made his grand escape,

So proud he’d got away with,

His jolly little jape!

In seconds he got up again,

And giggled in delight,

"I’ve found a secret passage,

Oh what a lovely sight!"

If I take a walk along it,

Hidden treasure I may find,

This unexpected detour,

Has help to ease my mind!"

He continued on his journey,

Until he spied a door,

"It has to be in here," he cried,

"What am I waiting for?"

But as he walked into the room,

His little heart just sank,

"Oh bother!" he groaned miserably,

It seems I’ve drawn a blank!"

"I was really, really hoping,

For a mystery to unfold,

But that’s not the sort of item,

Which is worth it’s weight in gold!"

But as he turned to take his leave,

There was a little squeak,

Then someone said "I’ll give you,

The thrills and spills you seek!"

"I may look quite old fashioned,

But don’t judge on what you see,

I’m Muriel the Mirror,

And I’m clever as can be!"

Our Furry friend was unconvinced,

He giggled "Yeah, yeah yeah,

Somebody’s playing tricks on me,

As far as I’m aware."

"They think that I am barmy,

Because of my small size,

But they’ll have to get up early,

To take me by surprise.

To play this little trick on me,

Is nothing short of tragic,

I’ve seen a lot of mirrors,

And none of them are magic!"

"Well I am," said the voice again,

"My powers have no end,

The last thing I would ever do,

Is play you up my friend!

So if you will allow me to,

I’ll brighten up your day,

You’ll soon find out I’m someone,

Who has a lot to say."

Geronimo sighed heavily,

And then he said "Alright,

If you really are that clever,

Can you help increase my height.

In case you hadn’t noticed,

I’m only three foot tall,

And although it looks appealing,

I’m bored with being small."

The mirror simply answered,

"I’ll see what I can do,

But it isn’t very easy,

Pleasing visitors like you!"

There was a moments silence,

Then Bear heard a little squeak,

"My goodness me!" he giggled,

"That’s all the proof I seek!"

When he looked at his reflection,

So very chuffed was he,

For his increase in stature,

Was there for all to see.

"Fantastic!" giggled Teddy,

"Just look at how I’ve grown,

This is the proudest moment,

That I have ever known!"

"I bet it is," laughed Muriel,

"You do look rather nice,

But now I’d like to offer you,

A small piece of advice.

When you go and join the others,

Just hold your head up high,

Then people will respect you,

Convinced of that am I".

"I’m very, very happy,

That I gave you self belief,

But follow my instructions,

And you’ll never come to grief!"

"You know," Bear answered smiling,

"Those words are very true,

Next time I feel inferior,

I’ll take a tip from you!"

He kissed her very gently,

And then outside he went,

And ever since that meeting,

He’s felt happy and content!

THE END.
