Geronimo And The Magic Vase
Dragon

Geronimo the little Bear,

Was in Nan's loft one day,

Where lots of very precious things,

Were neatly packed away.

"I'll have to have a look!" he thought,

"To see what I can find,

Because so many questions,

Are going through my mind!"

As Teddy rummaged through the box,

He gasped "Oh goodness me,

It's like a giant treasure trove,

There is so much to see!"

"I've found ornaments, and records,

And books from years ago,

Packed full of information,

That I really didn't know!"

When he finally reached the bottom,

Bear groaned in sheer disgust,

Because he found a big, brass vase,

All covered up by dust!

"I'm all for ancient history!"

He cried in sheer dismay,

"But it is my opinion,

This vase has had it's day!"

But as he sat and looked at it,

He thought; "Oh I don't know,

If it had a little clean up,

Then we might just see it glow!"

Our Hero found a piece of rag,

As quickly as he could,

"In just a while," he told the vase,

"I'll have you looking good!"

But as he started dusting,

There was a great big bang,

Our Furry friend was terrified,

And dropped it with a CLANG.

"Oh bloomin' heck!" he shouted,

"This is beyond a joke,

I only did some cleaning,

And the room's filled up with smoke!"

The smoke began to clear away,

And then out jumped an Imp,

"You naughty thing!" cried Teddy,

"You made me go all limp!"

"Oh sorry," laughed his new found friend,

"But please don't get all huffy,

For when you live inside a vase,

You do get rather stuffy!"

Bear smiled; "Oh I believe you! ,

"But your exploits left me frightened,

Please tell me more about yourself,

It's time I was enlightened!"

"I'm Immy," smiled the little Imp,

"The genie of the vase,

I aim to bring some magic,

To this gloomy world of ours."

"On very rare occasions,

"I make my presence known,

But if a grown up saw me,

Then my cover would be blown!"

Then, with the most enormous leap,

He landed on Bear's knee,

"Oh curses!" laughed Geronimo,

"You'll be the death of me!"

"Oh poppycock!" grinned Immy,

"I've brightened up your day,

And if you will stick with me,

Good luck might come your way!"

"I can't see how!" said Teddy,

"You've got me all a quiver,

So please don't make me promises,

That you cannot deliver!"

The imp began to giggle,

"Just trust me!" he replied,

"Because I'm far too little,

To take you for a ride!

I bet you have a secret wish,

You're longing to come true,

Please tell me all about it,

And I'll see what I can do!"

The little Bear still had his doubts,

But then he said "Okay,

A big supply of honey,

Would really make my day!"

Friend Immy twirled around a bit,

Then he began to mumble,

The floorboards started creaking,

And there was a little rumble.

Our Furry Friend gasped "Golly,

I think you've made a blunder,

For that almighty rumble,

Sounds an awful lot like thunder!"

"Don't panic," whispered Immy,

"I always get things right,

And you'll soon see before you,

The most delicious sight!"

Geronimo was unconvinced,

And covered up his eyes,

But when he opened them once more,

He had a BIG surprise.

Ten giant pots of honey,

Were sitting by his side,

"There must have been a miracle,

Did YOU do this?" he cried.

"I told you that I had the gift,"

Replied the clever Imp,

"When granting special wishes,

I never, ever skimp!"

"You're telling me!" laughed Teddy,

"To eat this will take years,

But every naughty mouthful,

Will be music to my ears!"

"Oh I'm so glad!" grinned Immy,

"But it's time to take my leave,

Please come back very quickly,

As I've more tricks up my sleave!"

"You bet I will!" Bear giggled,

"Today's been so much fun,

I'll always be so grateful,

For the marvellous thing you've done!"

His friend gave an enormous smile,

And chuckled "That's okay,

But it is most important,

That a secret I must stay!"

He lept into the vase once more,

And Teddy thought "Oh wow,

This piece of brass seemed boring,

But I know different now!"

THE END.
