Geronimo Meets a Living Doll.

When he awoke one Saturday,

The weather was so sunny,

So Geronimo walked in to town,

To spend his pocket money.

He felt extremely happy,

As he hurried on his way,

And said "It’s been a busy week,

I’ve earned some sweets today,

But when he reached the crossing.

Bear gasped in sheer surprise,

Because a very pretty girl,

Was right before his eyes.

"Oh what a shame," he muttered,

"She’s sitting in a chair,

For someone so attractive,

That really is unfair"

"Oh don’t be daft!" the small girl smiled,

"I’m happy as can be,

There isn’t any need at all,

To show me sympathy.

I may look weak and fragile,

But a happy life I live,

I’m also really brainy,

And my Christian name is Viv!"

"Move out the way this minute,

And stop wasting all my time,

In case you hadn’t noticed,

This kerb I’ve got to climb!"

"Excuse me" said our Furry Friend,

"You can’t climb kerbs in that,

I reckon if you tried to,

Your plans would fall quite flat!"

"Oh honestly," his new chum groaned,

"That shows how much you know,

You may be cute and cuddly,

But you’re also very slow!"

Then to his sheer amazement,

She put the chair in gear,

And climbed right up the massive kerb,

Without the slightest fear.

As soon as she’d achieved this,

She dashed into the shop,

"Oh golly," gasped Geronimo,

"She’s caught me on the hop!"

As he raced into the sweet shop,

He was really out of breath,

"You cheeky thing," he panted,

"You’ve just frightened me to death!"

Viv simply giggled loudly,

"Oh don’t be such a wally,

Just follow my example,

And grab the nearest trolley!"

"Okay," replied the little Bear,

"I think that’s what I’ll do,

But please slow down a little,

As I’m not as fast as you!"

His friend looked at the ceiling,

And rolled her sparkly eyes,

"I won’t do that," she chuckled,

"You need the exercise".

Laughing very, very loudly,

She whizzed down all the aisles,

And soon the other customers,

Were wearing happy smiles.

"Hey steady on!" squealed Teddy,

"This isn’t the grand prix,

I need to get my shopping,

But you’re quite exhausting me!"

"That’s tosh!" replied the cheeky girl,

"I’ve collected lots of stuff,

your trolley should be bulging,

But you’re just not fast enough!!"

Our furry friend said nothing,

He just raced to the shelves,

Where lots of very tasty sweets,

Were sitting by themselves.

"I deserve this lot!" he panted,

As he stacked them in his trolley,

"She’s speedy in that wheelchair,

Though she looks just like a dolly"

Then when everything was ready,

He headed for the till,

And puffed "This morning’s exercise,

Has left me feeling ill!"

"That’s poppycock!" Viv giggled,

"You’ve had no end of fun,

And I think that I should tell you,

This was just a dummy run!"

"I had my doubts about you,

But now you are my friend,

Why don’t we make a promise,

To meet up each weekend?"

"All right then," said Geronimo,

"I still think you are mad,

But this has been the biggest fun,

That I have ever had."

He paid for all his shopping,

And quickly left the store,

But they meet up every Saturday,

For thrills and spills galore,

He tells everyone around him,

"I love spending time with Viv,

For in spite of all her problems,

She still has a lot to give!"
