At a quarter to eleven,

One sunny summers day,

Geronimo went walkabout,

To pass the time away.

By the time he reached the forest,

He heard a distant rumble,

And grinned "I’m getting peckish,

Although I mustn’t grumble."

But as he went on walking,

The rumble got much worse,

In the end it got so noisy,

That Bear began to curse!

He shouted at his belly,

"Stop making all this racket,

The noise is truly awful,

And I really cannot hack it!"

His belly didn’t listen though,

It groaned "I ‘m in a mood,

You see it has been ages,

Since I had some decent food.

I’ve told you that I’m starving,

But my pleas you just ignore,

Which is why I’ve had to rumble,

Much louder than before!"

"I’m sorry," mumbled Teddy,

"But we’re walking through the wood,

Which makes it quite impossible,

To feed you as I should!"

"Too bad," his belly grumbled,

"I’m as starving as can be,

And until you end my torment,

You won’t hear the last of me!"

The horrendous noise continued,

And Our Chum got in a whirl,

But just as he was losing it,

Up came a smiling girl.

She was carrying some biscuits,

On a shiny silver tray,

And giggled "Please stop frowning.

As it’s such a lovely day!"

"Oh just in case you wondered,

My name is Katie Crunch,

My super home made biscuits,

Will fill you up till lunch.

You can get a little hungry,

When you’re walking through the trees,

So do yourself a favour,

And have a few of these!"

"Oh thank you!" squealed Geronimo,

"I don’t mind if I do,

You just could not imagine,

The problems I’ve been through!

My belly keeps on rumbling,

And he’s driving me berserk,

He needs urgent pacifying,

So I hope that this will work."

"I’m sure it will," smiled Katie,

With a twinkle in her eye,

"My biscuits taste delicious,

And that I can’t deny!"

"Oh thanks!" laughed Bear so loudly,

"I’ll have Jeremy the ginger,"

Then he looked down at his belly,

And grinned "Eat this you winger!"

His belly was delighted,

And chuckled "Oh at last,

Now do me a huge favour,

And gobble him down fast!"

"All right then," muttered Teddy,

Taking a gigantic swallow,

"If you like the taste of this one,

Then even more will follow!"

When Jeremy had landed,

His belly went quite mad,

And did a little wobble,

Because he was so glad.

"That was brilliant!" he chuckled,

"And if I might be suggestive,

I’d really like to take a bite,

Of Deborah Digestive!"

Our Chum began to giggle,

And then he said "Okay,

Your getting very cheeky,

Now food has come your way!"

"Don’t knock it!" squealed his belly,

"I’m as happy as can be,

At least that nice young woman,

Is listening to me!"

Geronimo laughed loudly,

And put Deborah in his mouth,

"Shut up," he told his Belly,

"Because she’s heading south!"

He kept on eating biscuits,

In a hungry sort of way,

And before they even knew it,

Katie had an empty tray!"

"That’s it boys," she said smiling,

"I think you’ve had your fill,

The last thing I would want to do,

Is leave you feeling ill.

It’s been wonderful to meet you,

And we’ve had a super day,

But sadly I must now scoot off,

And wash this silver tray!"

Geronimo lent over,

And gave her a small kiss,

While laughing "You’re fantastic,

And this morning’s been such bliss.

Next time he starts to rumble,

I know just what to do,

I’ll just cut out the middle man,

And bring him straight to you!"

"Come on," he told his belly,

"We must go home for lunch,

But we’ll soon be back to visit,

The lovely Katie Crunch!"

THE END.
