One bright and sunny morning,

Geronimo the Bear,

Looked out his kitchen window,

And saw a strange sight there.

"Good Gracious, here comes Postman Steve,"

Said Teddy with a laugh,

"I wonder what he's carrying,

Right up the garden path?"

The parcel looked exciting,

And as heavy as could be,

"Oh goody!" squealed Geronimo,

"A present just for me!"

When Steve got to the kitchen door,

His face was very red,

"Thank goodness that is over,

"I'd love some tea!" he said.

'Well I've just put the kettle on"

Replied the happy Bear,

"So put the parcel down at once,

And come and sit down there!"

The two friends chatted over tea,

Then Steve said; "I must go,

My round is very busy,

I'm on overtime you know!"

The Teddy watched Steve go and then,

He tore off all the paper,

"Oh golly!" he thought to himself,

"This is a funny caper!"

Then suddenly upon the floor,

There was a giant box,

"How boring!" sighed our furry friend,

"It's even worse than socks!"

But then the lid flew open,

And made him jump right back,

A chirpy little man popped out,

And said; "Hello I'm Jack!"

But just as he had spoken,

The lid banged shut once more,

This frightened our Geronimo,

Who fell onto the floor!

"My goodness me!" he grumbled,

"Wherever has he gone?

My heart has missed a thousand beats,

Which really isn't on!"

The house was quiet once again,

So Teddy fetched a drink,

"I'm safe now!" he thought smugly,

"He's disappeared I think!"

Our hero felt extremely calm,

And lifted up his cup,

But then the lid burst open,

And little Jack popped up!

"You're barmy!" cried Geronimo,

"You've made me spill my tea!

And all these shocks I'm getting,

Will be the end of me!"

But Jack just gave a lovely smile,

"Don't be like that!" he said,

"Forget about the mess I've caused,

And have some fun instead!"

"Alright!" smiled our Geronimo,

"But no more nasty shocks,

I'd really like to have a look,

Inside your giant box!"

"Okay then!" said the little man,

"I think that would be great,"

So Teddy climbed inside the box,

Before it was too late!

"Oh wow!" said Teddy loudly,

"It's like a giant house,

You've got some chairs and tables,

And even a pet mouse!"

"I know, it's really great!" smiled Jack,

"My Grandma lives here too,

She is a lovely person,

Who'll have such fun with you!"

"You're joking!" laughed Geronimo,

But Jack said "No I'm not,"

And then he shouted; "Grandma!

A visitor we've got!"

Before you could say "Magic",

Bear had a big surprise,

Because a special lady,

Appeared before his eyes!

"Hello!" she smiled "I'm Grandma,

And I have made some tea,

I like to dress in yellow,

As I'm a busy bee!"

"My goodness!" cried Geronimo,

"This is the strangest place,

But at the wooden table,

He quickly found a space!"

"Eat up boys!" smiled jack's Grandma,

"There's cake and jelly too,

A woman's work goes on and on,

There's such a lot to do!"

The two friends had a lovely feast,

They ate and ate and ate,

And then they played a game of snap,

And giggled "This is great!"

But when the game was over,

Bear had another shock,

"My goodness me!" he shouted,

"It's nearly eight o'clock!"

He leapt up from his little chair,

And headed for the door,

"Thanks for the lovely tea!" he called,

"I will be back for more!"

THE END.
