Geronimo’s
Haircut.
One morning our Geronimo,
Climbed out of his warm bed,
He found he couldn’t see a thing,
"What’s going on?" he said.
"I’ve always had good vision,
But now I have gone blind,
So an awful lot of worries,
Are preying on my mind."
But as he put his clothes on,
Bear’s problems just increased,
So he got quite frustrated,
To say the very least.
He groaned "Oh this is hopeless,
I just want to get dressed,
But I can’t see what I’m doing,
And it’s making me depressed!"
When he went downstairs to breakfast,
Jane laughed and laughed and laughed,
"What’s happened here?" she
chuckled,
"You look extremely daft.
You’re vest’s around your ankles,
You’ve got knickers on your head,
I’ve got a funny feeling,
That you should have stayed in bed!"
The grumpy Teddy glared at her,
And snapped "Don’t laugh at me,
The reason I am in this state,
Is that I cannot see.
When I got up this morning,
I found I had gone blind,
A solution to the problems,
Is very hard to find."
There was a moments silence,
Then his friend looked up at him,
"You’ve not gone blind," she
giggled,
"Your fur just needs a trim.
It’s got so long and straggly,
That it’s covering your eyes,
The fact you can’t see a thing,
Should come as no surprise!"
"I’ll take you to the Barbers,
Which is just along the lane,
And I’m certain my mate Derek,
Will sort you out again!"
She helped Bear put his clothes straight,
And down the lane they hurried,
"This won’t take long," she told
him,
"There’s no need to get worried."

At last they reached the Barbers,
And the door was open wide
So with great anticipation,
The friends both walked inside.
When Derek saw Geronimo,
He grinned from ear to ear,
"My goodness me," he chuckled,
"You’re in a mess I fear!"
"I know I am," Our Hero sighed,
"Jane says I need a trim,
I couldn’t see this morning.
And it made me feel so grim!"
"I bet it did," the barber smiled,
"But I’ll soon sort you out,
And give you a posh haircut,
Which you can brag about."
"Just take a seat," he added,
"And leave everything to me,
The kettle is about to boil,
So you can have some tea!"
He covered Teddy quickly,
Then began to trim his fur,
Smiling "By the time I’ve finished,
This cut will cause a stir!"
As the barber went on snipping,
They chatted so much more,
Bear said "That feels much better now,
Of that you can be sure!"
In no time whatsoever,
The haircut was complete,
"You’ve done me proud!" he
chuckled,
"It looks so nice and neat!"
"My pleasure," answered Derek,
"I’m just glad you can see,
Next time your fur needs trimming,
Then just come straight to me,"
Geronimo looked up at him,
And grinned "You bet I will,
Because you are a person,
Who has a special skill."
As soon as they had paid the bill,
They headed out the door,
And little Bear was really glad,
That he could see once more!
THE END.
