Geronimo
Meets Friendly Florence.
The boring
science lesson,
Was
rolling on and on,
“Oh
golly,” groaned Geronimo,
“My
patience has all gone.”
“I know
I should be listening,
But now I
feel quite lousy,
And all
these complicated terms,
Are making
me feel drowsy.”
“I’ve
heard so many of them,
That
they’re messing up my head,
So now
I’ll take it easy,
And have
some fun instead!”
Bear
grabbed hold of a rubber,
And
twirled it round and round,
Which
really was quite clever,
As it
didn’t make a sound.
Then very,
very stupidly,
He put it
up his nose,
And
grinned “It will be wonderful,
To see how
far it goes.”
However in
a little while,
He ran
right out of luck,
Because
the tiny object,
Got well
and truly stuck!”
He put a
furry paw up,
And then
he yelled “Please Miss,
A
rubber’s stuck right up my nose,
How do I
handle this?”
Miss Hall
came marching up to him,
And
muttered “Dear oh dear,
You’ve
not been concentrating,
That much
is crystal clear!”
“Let’s
get you off to A and E,
As quickly
as we can,
I’m
pretty sure the nurses,
Will come
up with a plan.”
When they
reached their destination,
Poor Teddy
was in pain,
He sighed
“I wish that someone,
Would put
me right again!”
As soon as
he had spoken,
A nurse
came up to him,
She smiled
“Hello I’m Florence,
What’s
making you feel grim?”
“It’s
simple,” sighed our Furry Chum,
“I’ve
been a proper fool,
I shoved a
rubber up my nose,
Which
really wasn’t cool!”
“Oh
goodness,” laughed his new found friend,
“That
isn’t nice at all,
It must be
most un-nerving
For
somebody so small.
But if you
will come with me,
Of this I
have no doubt,
My magic
pair of tweezers,
Will sort
the problem out!”
Geronimo
was doubtful,
But then
he said “Okay
But
because I am the smallest,
You’ll
have to lead the way!”
Before you
could say clumsy,
He was
sitting on a bed,
“You’ll
be just fine,” smiled Florence,
“Don’t
worry your small head!”
“This
job is very easy,
So if you
stay quite still,
I’ll
soon remove that rubber,
And stop
you feeling ill!”
Bear
nodded very slowly,
And then
replied “Okay,
I’ll
gladly bite the bullet,
And do
everything you say!”
As soon as
he was settled,
Florence
took her tweezers out,
And before
he even knew it,
The rubber
came straight out!
“Good
heavens!” giggled Teddy.
“That
was simple as can be,
And I am
very grateful,
For all
you’ve done for me!”
The nurse
just giggled loudly,
And said
“It’s been a pleasure,
Because
although you’re cheeky,
You’re
still a little treasure.”
She handed
him a chocolate,
And then
they went outside,
“He’s
been a star this afternoon”
She told
Miss Hall with pride!
“I
know,” replied the teacher,
With a
very knowing wink,
“And now
he’s feeling better,
I’m
really tickled pink.
But now
this nightmare’s over,
We should
be on our way,
And I hope
that he’ll remember,
The things
he’s learned today!”
“Don’t
worry,” grinned our Furry Friend,
“I’ve
been as green as grass,
But from
this moment forward,
I’ll
concentrate in class!”
THE END.
