Our tired chum Geronimo,

Climbed out of bed one morning,

He then picked up the rubbish,

Still half a sleep and yawning.

“This is a rotten job,” he sighed,

“Of that there is no doubt,

But as it is so stinky,

I’ve got to take it out!”

But when he reached the garden,

There was a little croak,

“For heavens sake!” Bear grumbled,

“This has to be a joke.”

He put the dustbin bag down,

Then shouted out “Who’s there?

Somebody’s playing tricks on me,

And that just isn’t fair!!”

“They’re not,” the voice assured him,

“I’m stuck right down this drain,

So I was rather hoping,

That you’d get me out again.

I’m in a dreadful pickle,

I’ve been stuck down here all night,

And since I’m only little,

That clearly isn’t right!”

The kindly Teddy was concerned,

But said “Don’t worry mate,

Because I’ll get you out of there,

Before it is too late!”

He got down on his furry paws,

Then peered right down the drain,

And noticed that a tiny frog,

Was clearly under strain!

“Please get me out,” he pleaded,

“It’s horrible in here,

And if I have to stick around,

I think I’ll faint with fear!”

“You won’t,” smiled our Geronimo,

“Just stay extremely still,

Then I will try my hardest,

To stop you feeling ill!”

The worried frog was doubtful,

But then he croaked “Okay,

I’ll be extremely grateful,

I’ll you’ll help me save the day!”

So very, very gently,

Bear lifted him straight out,

And laughed “You’ll feel much better now,

Of that I have no doubt!”

“I do,” replied his tiny chum,

“In there it was so slimy,

And for the first time ever,

My skin feels far too grimy!”

“Don’t worry,” Teddy giggled,

“I’ve got somewhere you can stay,

Then you can gladly wash yourself,

And hop around all day!”

“Oh goody,” smiled his new found friend,

“A lovely garden pond,

Filled up with pretty lilies,

Of which I am so fond,”

He hopped out of our Hero’s paw,

And straight into the water,

While croaking “This is fabulous,

There’s nothing I would alter!”

“That’s great,” laughed our Geronimo,

“I hoped that you would stay,

I think I’ll call you Freedom,

As that’s what you’ve found today.”

“Okay then,” croaked the tiny frog,

“That is just fine by me,

For with this new arrangement,

I’m as happy as can be!

THE END.
