Geronimo Goes Flying.
One
afternoon Geronimo,
Was
standing in a field,
When
suddenly the rain came down,
“It’s just
not fair!” he squealed.
“My fur’s
already muddy,
After
being in a scrum,
It never,
ever crossed my mind,
That there
was worse to come!”
“The
others do not realise,
How
fortunate they are,
It’s at
dreadful times like this one,
I wish
Jane had a car.
But as she
cannot drive one,
I’d better
find some shelter,
I’ve got a
funny feeling,
That this
storm will be a belter!”
He raced
towards the nearest bush,
And sat
down on the ground,
But after
just a little while,
He heard a
whirring sound.
Our Furry
Chum was startled,
And
shouted “My oh my,
That
sounds just like a UFO,
I think
the end is neigh!”
But when
he looked above his head,
He
squealed in sheer delight,
“A magic
helicopter,
Oh what a
lovely sight!”
He stood
up very quickly,
Then
raised a furry paw,
And
shouted; “Will you rescue me?
I’m
shaking to the core!”
“This
rainstorm makes it really hard,
To walk
home single handed,
And I’ve
come to the conclusion,
That it’s
no fun being stranded.
My team
mates have all left me,
And
they’re in the warm and dry,
If someone
doesn’t help me soon,
I reckon I
may die!”
For a
second nothing happened,
And
Bear sighed" Goodness me,
I'll be
stuck out here forever,
As far
as I can see.
I was
very, very foolish,
To
think things were in hand"
But
then, the helicopter,
Came
safely down to land.
In the
twinkling of an eyelid,
A man
came up to him,
And
smiled "I've come to take you home,
So
please stop looking grim!"
Geronimo looked up at him,
And
grinned from ear to ear,<+span>
"Oh
thank you very much," he said,
"I'd
love to disappear.
"Hop in
then," smiled his new found friend,
"I'm
Darren by the way,
I knew
those flying lessons,
Would
be of use one day!"
"You're
spot on there!" laughed Teddy,
As he
sat down in his seat,
"I'm
such a lucky fellow,
What an
unexpected treat!"
"Oh
that's all right," beamed Darren,
"Flying
is no end of fun,
And I'm
certain that this journey,
Will be
a perfect one!"
He
started off the engine,
Which
gave a mighty roar,
Soon
they were flying higher,
Than
they'd ever done before.
Our
Hero squealed excitedly,
"The
houses look like toys,
No
wonder you like flying,
It's
full of hidden joy's!"
The
pilot giggled loudly,
And
smiled "I told you so,
"Oh
look," he gasped, "The fluffy clouds,
Are
putting on a show!"
"I
know," replied Geronimo,
"I'm
counting every one,
And way
out in the distance,
I've
seen the setting sun!"
The
happy flight continued,
But
then he gave a squeal,
"Oh
that's my house!" he shouted,
"All
this seems quite unreal!"
"Just
hold on tight!" smiled Darren,
"As
we're coming into land,"
Soon
they touched down in the garden,
Exactly
as he planned.
When
she realised what was happening,
Friend
Jane came running out,
"Good
gracious me!" she bellowed,
"What
is this all about!"
"Don't
panic" Bear assured her,
As he
stepped out of the plane,
"I've
had the most amazing flight,
So I'm
as right as rain!
There
was a dreadful cloud burst,
But
Darren rescued me,
And
we've been flying through the air,
As
happy as can be!"
"The
journey was fantastic,
And had
me tickled pink,
So why
don't we invite him in,
To have
a nice hot drink!"
"Of
course," replied the little girl,
"Do
come in straight away,
What an
unexpected ending,
To a
very normal day!"
THE END.
