Geronimo
Meets Clever Trevor.
One sunny Sunday Morning,
Geronimo the Bear,
Went out into the garden,
With lots of time to spare!
He thought "This snap decision,
Seems to be the best I’ve made,
I can water all the flowers,
And then sit down in the shade!"
As he began his special task,
He giggled "I feel great,"
Then sadly Teddy noticed,
Something odd about the gate.
"Oh bother!" He yelled loudly,
"It’s been damaged by a ball,
Someone’s been a proper vandal,
And that isn’t fair at all!"
He called to Jane "Come quickly!
A disaster there has been,
Our gate has just been damaged,
And to mend it I am keen.
But exactly how to tackle it,
I haven’t got a clue,
So will you kindly come out here,
And show me what to do?"
When his friend saw what had happened,
She muttered "Dear oh dear,
It seems you’re absolutely right,
We’ve got a problem here."
"But you’ve got no need to worry,
As we’ll soon sort it out,
I’ll need a helping paw mind you,
Of that I have no doubt!"
"You hold the gate," She added,
"While I see to the hinge,
We have to work together,
This is no time to winge!"
"Okay," replied our eager chum,
"I’m behind you all the way,
For once I’ll listen carefully,
To everything you say!!"
He held onto the wobbly gate,
As firmly as he could,
While plucky Jane worked really hard,
Just like she said she would.
But as they stood there struggling,
A voice called "Hold it there,
I’ll gladly fix that gate of yours,
As I’ve got time to spare!"

"Oh look," cried our Geronimo,
(In absolute delight,)
"Clever Trevor’s coming up the path,
He’s sure to put things right.
He makes the best computers,
And is good at fixing cars,
So I’m certain he will soon sort out,
This dreadful mess of ours!"
"Oh thanks a lot," he answered,
"We could use your expertise,
Because we’re pretty useless,
At doing jobs like these.
That’s why if you came over here,
So happy we would be.
Because we’re in a pickle,
And need urgent help you see!"
The long haired man smiled up at him,
And said "You mustn’t worry,
Right now your gate looks wonky,
But I’ll fix it in a hurry!"
"Keep holding on," he added,
"And I’ll relive poor Jane,
I promise that it won’t take long,
To put things right again!"
Bear stood there like a statue,
While Trevor fixed the gate,
"Oh my!" he gasped in just a while,
"It’s looking really great."
Then he craftily lent over,
And did a little test,
But he couldn’t make it wobble,
Although he tried his best!
He laughed "Oh I’m so happy,
It’s as solid as a rock,
And if more thugs come calling,
They will get a nasty shock!"
"Oh good," replied the kindly man,
"But now I’ve got to go,
Another car needs fixing,
And time’s getting on you know!"
"Well thanks a lot!" Jane told him,
As he carried on his way,
"We really are most grateful,
For all your help today."
"She’s dead right there," beamed
Teddy,
"We’ll remember this forever,
And now we know the reason,
Why they call you Clever Trevor!"
THE END.
