Before he tiptoed up the stairs,

As tired as could be,

Geronimo the little Bear,

Looked at the Christmas tree.

On the very, very top of it,

A pretty fairy sat,

Our Furry Friend was most impressed,

And murmured "Fancy that!"

"She's very, very pretty,

And I love her dainty wings,

I really wish that she was real,

Then she could tell me things.

But since she's just a tiny doll,

Her secrets she can't tell,

I'd better get some beauty sleep,

Or else I'll be unwell."

He climbed right up the wooden hill,

And soon the little Ted,

Was sleeping very soundly,

In his warm and cosy bed.

But on the stroke of midnight

A big surprise he had,

"Good gracious me!" He shouted,

"I think I'm going mad!"

"Someone very, very cheeky,

Is tickling my toes,

But exactly how they got there,

Well heaven only knows!"

As he finished off his sentence,

Little giggles filled the air,

He pleaded "Will you buzz of now,

Because this isn't fair!"

"I can't," replied a tiny voice,

"You see I live downstairs,

I thought it might be so much fun,

To catch you unawares!"

"Oh did you now?" came the reply,

"Well I do not agree,

So will you kindly leave this house,

Before I count to three!"

"I told you!" squeaked the voice again,

"I've nowhere else to go,

And if you were to throw me out,

I'd end up feeling low."

Geronimo was angry now,

And sat up in his bed,

"Oh this is quite ridiculous,

I've had enough!" he said.

But as he looked around him,

He had a big surprise,

Because the fairy on the tree,

Was there before his eyes!

"Hello," she giggled softly,

"My friends all call me Fee,

I'd be very, very grateful,

If you'd come fly with me."

"I know it sounds quite crazy,

But I read your thoughts tonight,

Let's go upon a journey,

While the moon is shining bright!"

Our furry friend looked up at her,

And whispered "My oh my,

I like what you're suggesting,

But I'll never, ever fly!"

"You will," replied the fairy,

"Just hold my tiny hand,

And soon you will be flying high,

Exactly as you planned,"

"Close both your eyes," she added,

"While I say some magic words,

And then, before you know it,

We'll be flying like the birds!"

The little Bear was nervous,

But then he smiled "All right,"

And soon as if by magic,

They were flying though the night!

"This is wonderful!" he giggled,

"Just look at all these stars,

I really am impressed with,

This universe of ours!"

Fee gave a little chuckle,

And then the happy pair,

Soared right above the mountains,

Without a single care.

"Oh look!" squealed our Geronimo,

"They're covered up with ice,

I'll always be so happy,

That I headed your advice!"

"Fantastic," smiled the fairy,

"But it isn't over yet,

I promised you a journey,

That you will not forget!"

The chums continued flying,

And then Teddy shouted "Hey,

I think I've spotted Santa,

And it isn't Christmas Day!"

"He's busy in the forest,

Making lots and lots of toys,

And I am pretty certain,

They'll delight the girls and boys!"

"Come on," Fee answered urgently,

"We'd better get you back,

When it comes to keeping secrets,

You haven't got the knack!"

In the twinkling of an eyelid,

The chums were homeward bound,

And when he climbed in bed once more,

He didn't make a sound.

He went straight back to sleep again,

And as for lovely Fee,

She rushed downstairs in seconds,

And flew back on the tree!

THE END.
