Geronimo And The Chimps Tea Party.
Geronimo the little Bear,
Went to
the zoo one day,
Once
there, he met some friendly chimps,
Who
loved to run and play!
But
when he reached the monkey house,
They
went completely wild,
And
started shrieking loudly,
Just
like a naughty child!
The
very biggest chimp of all,
Began
to thump his chest,
"How
very odd!" thought Teddy,
"I
reckon he's depressed!"
He
moved a little closer,
And the
chimp just grabbed his paw,
He
bellowed; "I'm the master,
And I
want you here no more!"
Our
Hero chuckled; "Don't be daft,
I've
only come to tea,
And so
there isn't any need,
For you
to mess with me!"
"Oh
sorry!" said the red faced chimp,
"I
thought you were a foe,
You
cannot be too careful,
In a
place like this you know!"
"My
Christian name is Edward,"
He went
onto explain,
"And
now I know you're friendly,
I won't
trouble you again!"
Bear
sat down at the table,
And
thought; "What a relief,
For one
very nasty moment,
I
thought I'd come to grief!"
He
peeled a ripe banana,
But as
he went to eat,
Another
cheeky chimp dashed by,
And
knocked him off his feet!
"Hey,
steady on!" yelled Teddy,
"I
planned to eat my tea,
But all
these shocks I'm getting,
Will
surely finish me!"
His new
friend simply giggled,
And
didn't care at all,
He just
grabbed Bear's banana,
And
scurried up the wall!
"You
won't beat ME!" he boasted,
"We
chimps are expert nickers,
I am
the greatest one of all,
And you
can call me Clickers!"
"Is
that right?" asked our furry chum,
"You
might think you are strong,
But
when I finally catch you up,
Your
"Tough" act won't last long!"
He
hauled himself right up the wall,
And
puffed; "I must be mad,
Because
I'm using muscles,
That I
never knew I had!"
The
other chimps laughed loudly,
And
scoffed; "You're quite right there,
You
won't outshine us monkeys,
Because
you're just a Bear!"
Our
furry friend knew better,
In
spite of being small,
Eventually he reached the top,
Of the
enormous wall!
"Bold"
Clickers was astonished
And
yelled; "This cannot be!
You're
just a little half pint,
But
you're much more fit than me!"
"Good
things come in small parcels!"
Laughed
our Geronimo,
"You
seemed a bit too cocky,
So I
thought you ought to know!"
"Okay,
you win!" grinned Clickers,
"Let's
all sit down to eat,
"You
must excuse our table,
I'm
afraid it's not too neat!"
"Gosh,
that's an understatement!"
The
happy Teddy laughed,
"If
Jane could see the mess you've made,
Then it
would drive her daft!"
"The
cups are all turned upside down,
There's
spilt tea on the floor,
And a
whacking great banana skin,
Is
blocking your front door!"
"I
know," piped up the cheeky Chimp,
"We
monkey's aren't refined,
And
when you enter our abode,
Good
taste is left behind!"
Geronimo just giggled,
And
smiled; "Long may it last,
I'm
glad our teething troubles,
Are
firmly in the past!"
"That's
what you think!" laughed Clickers,
As he
climbed on Teddy's head,
"I have
to have some fun and games,
Before
I go to bed!"
"You
rotten thing!" yelled little Bear,
"Your
fur is very tickly,
Please
let me eat my tea in peace,
Before
I get all prickly!"
The
cheeky chimp climbed down at once,
And a
lovely feast they had,
"You
know," said Bear, "I love this place,
Although you're all quite mad!"
When
party time was over,
It was
time for him to run,
"I'll
soon be back!" he told them,
"As
I've had tremendous fun!"
"Make
sure you are!" smiled Clickers,
"Because my friend you see,
"It's
always entertaining,
When a
Teddy comes to tea!"
THE END.
