Geronimo
and the Bouncy Castle.
He leapt
out of bed one morning,
Feeling
happy as can be,
Then
Geronimo raced down the stairs,
“My
birthday’s here!” cried he.
As he
dashed into the living room,
He gasped
in sheer surprise,
Because a
pile of presents,
Was there
before his eyes!
“Good
heavens Jane,” he chuckled,
“You’ve
bought up the whole shop,
And I am
so excited.
I could
almost blow my top!”
His
special friend came over,
And gave
him a big kiss,
She told
him; “You deserve it,
On a
special day like this!”
“When
you’ve opened all these parcels,
There’s
another treat in store,
But
you’ll have to wait for that one,
Till the
guests arrive at four!”
“Oh go
on,” pleaded Teddy,
“Can’t
you give me just one clue?”
“Oh
no,” the small girl giggled,
“I’ve
got too much else to do!”
She went
out to the kitchen,
Feeling
very, very smug,
While our
puzzled little Hero,
Opened
presents on the rug.
“Oh
gosh!” he squealed excitedly,
“A train
set and a tractor,
I wish
that everybody else,
Could
share my feel good factor!”
“I’ll
wear my brand new jumper,
When
people come to tea,
Even
though my other birthday treat,
Is still a
mystery.”
Geronimo
smiled broadly,
Then went
back to his toys,
Which
meant the next few hours,
Were
filled with many joys.
Because he
was so happy,
The time
flew by so fast,
And before
he even knew it,
It was
four o’clock at last.
Soon lots
of friends and family,
Were
coming through the door,
And Bear
felt more excited,
Than
he’d ever done before.
When
everyone was ready,
Jane
smiled “Come along with me,
For
there’s something in the garden,
That I’d
like you all to see!”
Smiling
very, very broadly,
She led
them down the path,
When lucky
Teddy saw his treat,
He
couldn’t help but laugh!
He beamed
“A bouncy castle!
Oh
whatever can I say,
This
unexpected present,
Has really
made my day!”
He looked
at all his guests and laughed,
“Well
come on everyone,
Why
don’t you come and join me,
For some
special birthday fun!”
He leapt
upon the castle,
And began
to bounce so high,
Grinning
“There’s no doubt about it,
Such a
lucky bear am I.”
In no time
what so ever,
The others
joined in too,
And Barry
yelled “Ooh golly,
This is
like a dream come true!”
“You’re
right there!” Joe Bear chuckled,
“Even
though I’m very small,
I reckon I
should have a go,
At
bouncing off the wall!!”
When he
reached his point of vantage,
He bounced
with all his might,
And even
when he hit the floor,
His eyes
were shining bright.
When he
got up on his feet again,
Our Chum
came dashing over,
“You’re
such a loony tune!” he squealed,
“But I
am still bowled over!”
The pair
continued bouncing,
And then
what do you know,
Lovely Nan
came running over,
And smiled
“I want a go!”
The
Teddies were amazed by this,
“But you
are old!” they said,
“And if
you took a tumble,
You’d
surely hurt your head!”
“That’s
rubbish!” the old woman laughed,
“Now
will you let me through,
And then
I’ll prove to everyone,
Just how
well I can do!”
She leapt
onto the castle,
While the
awe struck pair stood back,
“My
goodness me!” Joe whispered,
“She’s
really got the knack!”
“I quite
agree!” came the reply,
“She is
a proper star,
So you can
just imagine,
How proud
of her we are!”
The fun
and games continued,
For quite
a while and then,
The guests
felt very hungry,
So they
went inside again.
Friend
Jane had somehow managed,
To put on
quite a spread,
Geronimo
was thrilled to bits,
“You’ve
done me proud!” he said.
“You’ve
included all my favourite things,
And I am
very glad,
This is
the greatest birthday,
That I
have ever had”.
Everybody
started cheering,
So he
grinned from ear to ear,
Then he
giggled “Thanks for coming,
You must
come again next year!”
THE END.
