Geronimo
Joins Bear FM.
Friend Barry has super job,
Which keeps him on the go,
He is a part time DJ,
On the local radio.
On one fine day however,
The kindly boy fell ill,
So Joe Bear begged Geronimo,
"Please help me if you will!"
"My owner loves his listeners,
And cheers them up a lot,
But now there’s no one else but me,
To fill the lunchtime spot!".
We share a lot of banter,
And play the best tune’s too,
But I cannot find a partner,
So that’s why I came to you!"
Our Furry Friend jumped up at once,
And then he grabbed his coat,
"Don’t worry mate," he giggled,
"We’ll keep this show afloat!
I’m flattered that you called on me,
Because it’s fair to say,
For years I have been longing,
To be a top DJ!"
"Thank goodness!" Laughed his fellow
Bear,
"But now we’ve got to run,
Although we’re on the air at two,
"There’s still work to be done!"
"Okay, okay" came the reply,
"I realise you’re the boss,
But if you start to nag me,
I’ll get extremely cross!"
The pair then darted down the road,
Until Joe puffed "We’re here,
It really is a blessing,
That the station is so near!"
Geronimo looked upwards,
And then he shouted; "Wow!
This building’s so impressive,
I want to go in now!"
Joe simply raised his eyebrows,
And led the way inside,
But still his sidekick was in awe,
"Just look at this!" he cried.
"I’ve got a sneaky feeling,
That I’m in the twilight zone.
I’d love to press these buttons,
Can’t you leave me on my own?"

"Hard lines," the other Teddy
laughed,
"I am in charge today,
So let’s put on our headphones,
And then get things underway!"
When the cheeky pair were ready,
And the little clock struck two,
He giggled; "This is Bear FM,
Hello to all of you!"
"Your regular presenter,
Is sadly feeling low,
So sitting here beside me,
Is my mate Geronimo.
We’d like to start the show off,
By playing a top tune,
It’s especially for Barry,
Who we hope will get well soon."
"We’re managing without you,
But we really don’t know how,
And to prove how much we miss you,
"Here comes; If You Leave Me Now."
Soon right across the airways,
The sweet song could be heard,
"You did that well," Our Chum told
Joe,
"But now I’d like a word?"
He leant forward very sneakily,
And grabbed hold of the mike,
"It’s phone in time," he chuckled,
So call in when you like.
The number is as follows,
535358,
So to have a bit of feedback,
Would be absolutely great!"
Soon the phone lines went bananas,
And the calls came flooding in,
"Oh thank you!" squealed the two DJ’s,
"Great prizes you’ll all win!"
When one listener finished speaking,
Another called to say,
"I really dig your programme,
"It’s brightened up my day!"
In between the jolly banter,
More super tunes were played,
And when it came to plugging things,
The pair were unafraid.
They laughed "Please keep on calling,
As we’re having so much fun,
Then go out and by this record,
Which belongs at Number One!"
The afternoon had vanished,
In the blinking of an eye,
And before the two Bears knew it,
It was time to say "Goodbye".
They said "You’ve been fantastic,
And parting brings us sorrow,
But you mustn’t fret dear listeners,
We’ll be back again tomorrow!"
"Oh will you now?" a voice piped up,
"I wouldn’t be so sure,
I’m certain I would lose my job,
If you came back once more!"
Geronimo and Joe turned back,
And were surprised to see,
Their very special friend had made,
A full recovery.
"Oh Barry!" they both shouted,
"We didn’t see you there,
In fact you frightened us to death,
Which really wasn’t fair!"
"That’s rubbish!" laughed the
little boy,
"I was only having fun,
Besides, I had to tell you,
How well I thought you’d done!"
"Your blend of chat and music,
Was as perfect as can be,
So now it gives me pleasure,
To take you out to tea!"
As they all walked up the high street,
He felt so proud of them,
And two brand new presenters,
Have now joined Bear FM!!
THE END.
