Geronimo, the little Bear,

Once tried to climb a wall,

But very sadly Teddy slipped,

And had a nasty fall!

His leg was badly broken,

And he had to wear a plaster,

He also used a wheelchair,

To get around much faster!

The Teddy had a lovely time,

As wheelies he could do,

"Oh this is really great!" he laughed,

"My dreams have all come true!"

One day he went out shopping,

just as a special treat,

But came across some problems,

While going down the street!

At first a lady stopped him,

And patted his small head,

She wore a glum expression,

"Oh it's so sad!" she said

Geronimo was most surprised,

And told her "I'm okay,

My leg will soon get better,

I'm having fun today!"

Geronimo went down the road,

A-singing as he went,

To have a fun filled afternoon,

Was clearly his intent!

He met a group of people,

Outside the grocers store,

They weren't a very brainy lot,

Of that you could be sure!

For when they saw the little bear,

They acted stupidly,

One fellow called out loudly.

"Do you know your ABC?''

His friend had a banana,

And gave it to the Teddy,

He told him; "That's for being good,

Please eat it when you're ready!"

Geronimo could stand no more,

His face went very red,

"Of course I know my alphabet,

It's you who's daft!" he said.

It's just my leg that's broken,

My brain is quite all right,

So please don't stand and stare at me,

You're such an ugly sight!

With a very, very nasty stare,

The Teddy Bear reversed,

And when he hit the daft men's toes,

My goodness how they cursed!

Geronimo just giggled,

As he saw them limp away,

"Next time" he thought quite smugly,

"They'll watch the things they say!"
